Why it's Important: Learning how to best care for Colorado's ecosystems is a valuable way to take your stewardship to the next level, especially in light of climate change and disasters such as floods and wildfires. This training will address a critical part of ecological restoration: erosion control. This training will help give you the tools to assess when erosion control structures are necessary and how to construct them in a safe and sustainable manner.
What You'll Learn: In this single-day workshop, you'll join a small class to receive hands-on training in erosion control techniques and structures. Some examples include Zeedyk Structures and media lunas. This training is primarily focusing on riparian ecosystems and meadows. To assist your learning you will receive reference materials that you can keep for future projects. This training will be led by experienced OSI Instructors.
