Description: The Colorado Outdoor Training Initiative (COTI) will present an exciting standardized training program for trail crew leadership in partnership with the US Forest Service, Holy Cross Ranger District. This 16 hour workshop covers leadership techniques, tool and crew safety, and technical trail skills. As part of the workshop, participants will focus on mitigating resource damage and developing more sustainable access routes to a number of popular climbing areas. All trainees will receive a Crew Leader Guide, copies of the Recommended Trail Terminology for Colorado, and other goodies that will make for a successful crew leadership experience. All training topics are directly applicable to any non-profit or agency trail maintenance or construction project! This workshop is best for individuals who have worked on trail projects or have crew leadership experience.
