Start Date-End Date: 04/30/2007-05/05/2007 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: Learn and develop the skills necessary to lead a trail crew. Description: The Colorado Outdoor Training Initiative (COTI) will present an exciting standardized training program for trail crew leadership in partnership with Team Evergreen. This 16-hour workshop covers leadership techniques, tool and crew safety, and technical trail skills. All trainees will receive a Crew Leader Guide, copies of the Recommended Trail Terminology for Colorado, and other goodies that will make for a successful crew leadership experience. The workshop will be taught in two evening classes (at Jefferson County Open Space Offices) and one full day of fieldwork training at Green Mountain Park. All training topics are directly applicable to any non-profit or agency trail maintenance or construction project. This workshop is best for individuals who have worked on trail projects or have some crew+++leadership experience. Get trained to lead a trail crew!
