Description: The Colorado Outdoor Training Initiative (COTI) will pilot a 2-day introductory course for individuals interested in learning successful tools and techniques for the assessment, planning, design and implementation of high-use, multiple-use mountain trails, according to sustainability criteria. The training will be taught using a variety of classroom lecture and discussion, field exercises and demonstrations, and group activities. The workshop is designed for individuals who have had previous trail experience and are familiar with the basic principles of trail design and construction. As this is the first year COTI has offered this workshop, all participants will be required to provide thorough, thoughtful feedback to the workshop instructors and COTI.
