Description

Start Date-End Date: 12/06/2011-12/06/2011 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: Students Vote and Establish Project Planning Groups Description: This month we will be having dinner, playing games, watching short films and vote on the project in order to get a head start on planning. Each Fall, VOC receives proposals for projects on behalf of land managers from across the state of Colorado. From 14er trail building projects and tree plantings to community gardens and invasive species removal, land managers seek out VOC to supply them with the tools, volunteers and management to see these tasks through. For the purposes of Cairn leading a volunteer project, typically project locations are in the Denver-metro/Front Range Area. I will be sharing with you the project proposals VOC has received that meet the requirements of a Cairn End-Of-Year Project which revolves around, 1) location, 2) ability to support over 100 volunteers, 3) access to resources/materials, and 4) 6-8 hours of work to be done. After learning about the projects available, Cairn will vote on their top three of which I will begin seeking commitment on behalf of the land manager to set a date and ensure they have materials and resources to see the projects through.
