Summary: Help inspire volunteers to engage in environmental stewardship activities in all aspects of their lives
Description: Join OSI for a brand-new training to become a VOC Stewardship Advisor (SA). SA^s will inform project participants about the importance of their volunteering, either through direct or indirect environmental education, in hopes of inspiring outdoor stewardship. SA^s will work closely with VOC staff on projects to convey the stewardship focus before, during, and after a project. SA^s will also work with the Project Team to ensure project planning process includes a stewardship education component. They will also collaborate with the agency partner on ways to keep volunteers tied to the land on which they are volunteering. &&&br##&&&br##
At this evening training, participants will learn the basics of inspiring VOC volunteers to engage in stewardship activities in all aspects of their lives by conveying a proactive stewardship message through VOC outreach, projects and program activities. SA^s must be at least 16 years of age.&&&br##&&&br##
Light snacks will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring dinner and snacks.
