Summary: Chatfield State Park spans 5600 acres and is located in Littleton, just Southwest of the Denver Metro Area. Every year, over 1,000,000 visitors choose to spend their time at Chatfield, enjoying the scenic views of the neighboring foothills and Platte River valley. Visitors can hike, bike, camp, and ride a horse along the trails, or even boat on Chatfield Lake.
Description:
Here at Chatfield, we will be focused on enhancing and maintaining a great shaded trail on the southwest corridor of the park. Our one and a half day project will continue the efforts started last Fall by the Mile High Youth Corps, who were able to work through the first 300 feet on the north side of the trail. We will be laying down weed barrier, which will then be covered with crusher-fine gravel for the entirety of the trail. Our work on this trail should bring smiles to the faces of hikers and bikers alike for years to come!
