Description of Work Completed:
The 14 youth and 3 adult volunteers started off the morning with a Cairn in the Classroom event where students learned about urban farming and agriculture, misperceptions of what a farm looks like and who farmers are, and stewardship in Colorado. The group then received a tour of the Urban Farm and its hydroponic system, and then spent the afternoon weeding one of the young garden beds and mucking the miniature horse and donkey stalls.
