Start Date-End Date: 04/25/2012-04/25/2012 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: Help inspire volunteers to engage in environmental stewardship activities in all aspects of their lives Description: Become a VOC Stewardship Advisor. Stewardship Advisors inform project participants about the importance of their volunteering, either through direct or indirect environmental education, in hopes of inspiring outdoor stewardship. Stewardship Advisors work closely with VOC staff on projects to convey the stewardship focus before, during, and after a project. Stewardship Advisors also work with the Project Team to ensure project planning process includes a stewardship education component. They will also collaborate with the agency partner on ways to keep volunteers tied to the land on which they are volunteering. At this evening training, participants will learn the basics of inspiring VOC volunteers to engage in stewardship activities in all aspects of their lives by conveying a proactive stewardship message through VOC outreach, projects and program activities. Stewardship Advisors must be at least 16 years of age.
