Description: Be the energy behind outdoor stewardship! Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado is hosting an introductory crew chef training for people interested in cooking for volunteers in some of the most spectacular places in Colorado. This training is for new AND current crew leaders. During crew chef training you will learn safe food handling and preparation practices; how to manage a team of volunteer crew chefs; how to plan simple menus for large and small groups; how to manage the budget and donated items; and how to get around the Operations center and pack for a project. Crew chef training is a great opportunity to meet other people that love to cook in the outdoors and to share your favorite campsite recipes. As the old adage goes, behind every hardworking volunteer is a hardworking cook!
