Description: Be the energy behind outdoor stewardship! Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado is hosting an introductory crew chef training for people interested in cooking for volunteers in some of the most spectacular places in Colorado. This training is for new AND current crew chefs. During the field portion of crew chef training you will learn how to unpack the truck and setup your kitchen; manage a team of volunteer crew chefs; manage your time in the kitchen efficiently; and how to safely clean utensils in the field. During this year's field portion of the crew chef training we will be cooking on the Guffey Gorge project. We will feed the volunteers breakfast and lunch. Crew chef training is a great opportunity to meet other people that love to cook in the outdoors and a time to share your favorite campsite recipes. As the old adage goes, behind every hardworking volunteer is a hardworking cook! If you have questions, contact Steve Wall at steve@voc.org.
