The park offers its users a wide variety of activities including: hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and great views. The recent flooding has devastated the park and limited its use. Extensive work is needed to put the park back together. Description: On November 6th volunteers from Dish Network will help clean up Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood. The park sustained significant damage during the recent flooding. The project will focus on removing debris from a trail and restore it to useable condition. During CO's September flooding the park experienced devastating floods that covered some parts of the park in up to 50 feet of water! Once to the flood waters receded the damage was discovered. Trails had been washed away, structures were gone, and tons of trash and debris were left behind. Volunteers spent the afternoon of November 5th spreading crusher fine on over 400 ft of trail and collecting over 3 yards of trash.
