Summary: Cherry Creek State Park cottonwood and willow planting.
Description:
Come out to volunteer at Cherry Creek State Park on Friday May 17th. Volunteers will be planting cottonwood trees as well as willows. The land is currently flat and void of any trees. Due to the lack of nesting areas for predators, prairie dogs have gone unmitigated for years. Once the cottonwood trees are mature they will provide a habitat for various species of raptors that call the park home. This will help restore the park to a more natural state. In addition to planting trees, the group will also harvest and plant willows along the stream bank.
