Creating and executing trainings for individual corps is time consuming and is much mroe effecient when OSI has the oppostunity to train multiple corps during 1 training. Description of Accidents/Incidents: Description of Work Completed: OSI had the privilege of working with and train 5 individuals from Larimer County Conservation Corps. In a one day classroom setting the group worked on effective ways to teach outdoor stewardship skills and to lead corps members. During 2 field sessions various topics were covered including sustainable trail construction and design, drainage structure construction and maintenance and project site risk assessment. The crew was able to restore 2 switchbacks as well as construct a 50 ft turnpike in a flood site along the St Vrain River. The Corps members will use the skills and techniques they learned to lead their incoming corps members, who they will work with throughout the summer, to restore public lands.
