Start Date-End Date: 05/13/2015-05/13/2015 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: Help inspire volunteers to engage in environmental stewardship activities in all aspects of their lives. Description: Gain the knowledge to be able to teach volunteers the importance of their outdoor stewardship work, as well as inspire in them a lifetime commitment to caring for the environment!Environmental Stewardship Educators work closely with VOC staff on projects to convey the stewardship focus before, during, and after a project. Environmental Stewardship Educators also work with the Project Team to ensure the project planning process includes a stewardship education component. They will also collaborate with the agency partner on ways to keep volunteers tied to the land on which they are volunteering. At this evening training, participants will learn the basics of conveying a proactive stewardship message through VOC outreach, projects and program activities, and will learn how this volunteer role fits into the larger framework of a typical VOC project. Environmental Stewardship Educators must be at least 16 years of age.
