Start Date-End Date: 05/30/2015-05/31/2015 Land Manager Office: USFS - Salida Ranger District Land Manager Contact: Allison Stewart Funding Partner: BLM - Royal Gorge Field Office Programmatic Partner: Summary: Learn the fundamentals of volunteer crew management for the construction and maintenance of sustainable trails in Salida. Description: This two-day training will introduce the fundamentals of successful volunteer crew management for the construction and maintenance of sustainable trails. Through classroom sessions, field exercises and role-playing you'll learn and practice construction and maintenance of sustainable trails, leadership strategies and techniques, tool use, and safety. All trainees will receive a Crew Leader manual, a set of quick reference cards, and other materials that make for a successful crew leadership experience. All training topics are directly applicable to any non-profit or agency trail maintenance or construction project! This workshop is best for individuals who have had experience working on trail projects or previous crew leadership experiences. Additional payment and discount information: VOC/OSI trainings are offered for a nominal fee to cover materials and cost of instructors. They are limited in size to ensure their effectiveness and often fill quickly.Registrations are not solidified until payment is received in full. Training cost is $80.
