Evans Wilderness! Description: VOC's Outdoor Stewardship Institute is excited to host a brand new training for 2016. Come learn how you can independently donate your time to help maintain trails in two of the Front Range's most popular and beautiful wilderness areas! This training is intended to teach the fundamentals of basic trail maintenance to volunteers working independently in groups of three or less people. When the course concludes, trainees will know how to identify and perform basic trail corridor, trail tread and drainage structure maintenance, as well as how to recognize and report on other more complex maintenance needs that are beyond the intended scope of this training. Trainees will also be taught basic safety and risk assessment, along with how to appropriately work with and represent volunteer organizations and land management agencies. No Experience Needed: This training is open to all experience levels.
