This exciting two-day workshop will cover the fundamental and advanced skills of ecological restoration. Participants will learn about planting, seeding and erosion control, in addition to some refresher skills in volunteer leadership techniques, tool and crew safety. This year's training will see a newly revised format, with a focus primarily on restoration skills. The first day will include a variety of hands on sessions in seeding, transplanting, willow harvest and basic erosion control.The second day will consist of advanced skills including bioengineering, intermediate erosion control, seed mix and plant palette development, zoning plants in the field, and crew management for quality. Topics covered in this workshop are directly applicable to any nonprofit or agency restoration project! This training is best suited for individuals who have some restoration and/or crew leadership experience.
