Start Date-End Date: 05/23/2017-05/23/2017 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Adobe Programmatic Partner: Summary: From rolling valleys to mountainous hillsides, Lory State Park offers unique opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and horseback riding. Just minutes from Fort Collins, the park boasts 26 miles of trails and provides breathtaking views of Horsetooth reservoir's bays and coves. Description: The Adobe stewardship team will be working in partnership with VOC and CPWat LoryState Park to performfire restoration and trail maintenance. The project group will be stationed near the Homestead picnic area,working onatrail which offers beautiful views of bothFort Collins and Horsetooth Reservoir. CPW employees will work to safely down dead-standing trees from the Galena fire in 2013, while volunteers help tomanage the slash distribution. Another group will perform trail drainage work, possibly adding water bars and a few steps to help bettersustain the trial. This time of year pesky invasive plants arereemerging and another group will work to remove and contain various invasive species. These projects will contribute to Lory State Park's effort to build and maintain a sustainable trail system while also working to restore the native ecology of the project site. Continue westand turnleft onto County Road 23. Continuenorthand take a right on Lodgepole Drive (CR 25G). The park is approximately 1.6 miles up Lodgepole Drive on the left. From South Fort Collins Take Harmony Rd / 38E west. Turn right onto CR23. Proceed north until t-intersection. Turn left at stop sign onto CR23. Proceed north until Lodgepole Drive, turn left. Go 1.6 miles to the park entrance.
