Successes and Challenges: successes: the group was really excited to help out and wants to come out again to do trail work with us. they get 2 community volunteer days a year. The staff at The Urban Farm was also super pleased with what we were able to get done. We exceeded their expectations. They said that they usually get youth volunteer groups so they said if we have adult groups, they will take them. challenges: it was hot and there was little to no shade. The morning group did pretty good but the afternoon group faded quickly. I brought cold lemonade and they were grateful for that. TUF said that they would have tools for us, and they ended up having enough, but we should have brought some of our own just to be sure. Lessons Learned: The Urban Farm can always use the help if we get a group that would like to be in or around Denver. This was my first SWAT so I was able to see how it runs and what goes in to a SWAT as opposed to a public project day. Special Notes: Stewardship Education: Both the morning and the afternoon group got a tour of the Farm by farm staff. They were able to ask questions about what goes in to running the farm and the impact of the work that they got accomplished. Key Concerns or Comments from Staff or Volunteers: I was handed a big stack of waivers and it was unclear if all those people were actually there. Casy, the group contact went through and pulled those that she knew were not coming. I don't know if we ever do some kind of role call, especially since they did not register with us. Description of Accidents/Incidents: none! Description of Work Completed:
