Summary: Don't miss this exciting chance to learn about volunteer crew management and leadership.
Description: Learn the fundamentals of successfully managing volunteer crews for the construction and maintenance of sustainable trails! In this two-day training, you'll learn leadership strategies and techniques, tool use, safety, and basic trail construction and maintenance techniques through classroom sessions, field exercises, and role playing.
This training is open to those looking to become a volunteer Crew Leader with VOC, as well as employees and volunteers from other organizations. Click here to learn more about being a VOC Crew Leader.
All trainees will receive a crew leader manual, a set of quick reference cards, and other materials that make for a successful and fun experience. All training topics are directly applicable to any nonprofit, agency, trail maintenance, or construction project!
Recommended Experience:This workshop is ideal for individuals who have prior trail project experience. Both training days are required.
Location:This training will take place in classroom and outdoor settings in the Denver Mountain Parks system just west of Denver.
Payment and Discount Information: The cost of this training is $80. The training is available at a discounted rate of $60 to anyone who meets the following criteria:
Volunteered on 2 or more VOC projects in the past year
