Description: Learn the fundamentals of successfully managing volunteer crews for the construction and maintenance of sustainable trails! In this two-day training, you'll learn leadership strategies and techniques, tool use, safety, and basic trail construction and maintenance techniques through classroom sessions, field exercises, and role playing. All trainees will receive a crew leader manual, a set of quick reference cards, and other materials that make for a successful and fun experience. All training topics are directly applicable to any nonprofit, agency, trail maintenance, or construction project! Recommended Experience:This workshop is ideal for individuals who have prior trail project experience. Both training days are required. Location:This training will take place in classroom and outdoor settings in the Denver Mountain Parks system just west of Denver. Payment and Discount Information: The cost of this training is $80. The training is available at a discounted rate of $60 to anyone who meets the following criteria: Volunteered on 2 or more VOC projects in the past year Contact Dan Williams at dan@voc.org to sign up at a discounted rate.
