Description: This two-day training introduces the fundamentals of successful volunteer crew management for the construction and maintenance of sustainable trails. Through classroom sessions, field exercises, and role playing, participants will learn leadership strategies and techniques, tool use, and safety. All trainees will receive a crew leader manual, a set of quick reference cards, and other materials that make for a successful and fun experience. All training topics are directly applicable to any nonprofit, agency, trail maintenance, or construction project! Recommended Experience: This workshop is ideal for individuals who have prior trail project experience. Both training days are required and will take place at the Colorado Mountain College Leadville Campus Cost: Trainings are offered for a nominal fee to cover materials and cost of instructors. They are limited in size to ensure their effectiveness and often fill quickly. Meals are not included in the cost of training. Cost of this training is $80. For this training, discounts are available to residents and organizations in Lake, Chaffee, Summit and Eagle Counties. Dormitory space at Colorado Mountain College is available in limited quantities.
