Summary: This exciting training is a must for anyone interested in leading VOC volunteers!
Description: This training is exclusively for those interested in leading volunteer crews on VOC projects.VOC Crew Leaders educate new volunteers, lead volunteer crews in putting stewardship project plans into action, convey VOC's mission to the community, and help ensure volunteers have fun, safe, rewarding and inspiring experiences!
In addition to learning thefundamentals of successful volunteer crew management for the construction and maintenance of sustainable trails, participants will gain an understanding of how VOC projects function and the role in which a VOC Crew Leader plays. Through classroom sessions, field exercises and role-playing, you'll learn leadership strategies and techniques, tool use, and safety. The training will be held at the Mt. Evans Outdoor Lab in Evergreen. All trainees will receive a crew leader manual, a set of quick reference cards, and other materials that make for a fun and rewarding experience.
Recommended Experience:This workshop is best for individuals that have had experience working on trail projects or previous crew leadership experience.This training is exclusively for those interested in crew leading volunteers on VOC projects. Payment and Discount Information: The cost of this training is $80. The training is available at a discounted rate of $60 to anyone who meets the following criteria.
