Description: Open to volunteers and employees from any organization, this course is ideal for those who have prior trail project experience. This course also applies to those looking to become a volunteer Crew Leader with VOC. One well-trained Crew Leader can makes a world of difference guiding others on a trail construction or maintenance project. This 5-6 hour online course will expand your ability to perform high-quality stewardship work whether you're leading volunteers, youth corps or staff! Thanks to a partnership with Colorado Mountain College, this course features online content detailing leadership strategies, risk and safety management and trail work fundamentals,making it easier and faster for volunteers, students, and professionals to obtain the skills necessary to effectively care for Colorado's natural resources. Cost:$70. Registrants will receive an email with further details for accessing the online course upon completion of payment and registration. About Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) Originally created in collaboration with other organizations, OSI offers affordable, in-depth training courses for volunteers and employees from any organization to learn or improve their stewardship skills and prepare for a variety of leadership roles. Approximately 300 people each year receive OSI training in topics such as volunteer crew leadership; trail design, construction, and maintenance; ecological, habitat, and fire restoration; crosscut saw skills and more. OSI is a program of Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC), the state's oldest, largest, and leading outdoor stewardship nonprofit organization.
