Start Date-End Date: 04/09/2020-04/09/2020 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Ray Tschillard Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: This exciting training is a must for anyone interested in leading volunteers in the outdoors! Description: This course is for those interested in leading volunteer crews more effectively and confidently in the outdoors. Crew Leaders are the backbone of outdoor volunteer projects. They educate new volunteers, lead crews in putting stewardship project plans into action to accomplish the work successfully, convey a mission to the community, and help ensure volunteers have a fun, safe, and rewarding experience! By pursuing a Crew Leader training, you will expand your organization's ability to perform high-quality stewardship work throughout Colorado. In this one-day workshop, you will join a small class of less than 25 people to receivehands-on training in effective project management and crew leadership. You will receive a Crew Leader Manual, a set of quick reference cards, and other materials to take home and refer to on the trail. In the afternoon, we'll cover successful volunteer project management and pulling off a volunteer event from start to finish. Come prepared with project ideas and leave with a fully formed plan! Thanks to a partnership with Colorado Mountain College, this course will feature an online component (<4 hours) that will need to be completed prior to the workshop and on your own schedule and pace in order to maximize efficiency and on-the-ground coursework, making it easier and faster for volunteers, students, and professionals to obtain the skills necessary to effectively care for Colorado's natural resources. If you are unable to make this training, you may sign up for any of our otherCrew Leadership for Trails Trainings.
