Description: About the Location:
Roxborough State Park carries the esteemed designation of a Colorado Natural Area and a National Natural Landmark for good reason. The 4,000-acre park, nestled against the foothills south of Littleton, is comprised of stunning red rock formations, unique plant communities and a wide range of wildlife. The approximately 100,000 annual visitors can take in all of Roxborough's beauty from a variety of different access trails.
About the Volunteer Experience:
Trail Widening Project(s): Roxborough has been working with VOC's volunteers to widen certain trails in the park from 2ft to 4-5ft. This will help with stopping continued trail erosion, and help to eliminate sections that have mud problems in the wetter seasons.
About the Overall Impact:
These highly trafficked trails will continue to degrade without some much needed maintenance. Volunteers from Delta Dental will play a critical part in getting the chosen trail to sustainable standards and allow others to enjoy it for years to come.

Project Summary: all went well. all volunteers showed up. Jim Garofalo's first time as team lead. Volutneers widened 300 feet of corridor. the park will later be able to widen the trail to fix some erosion/drainage issues and have better access for emergency response within that park
