Description: This course is for those interested in expanding their organization's ability to use volunteers in high-quality stewardship work! A successful volunteer project is one that benefits both your organizational needs as well as those of the volunteers. Effective programs include everything from volunteer management, project selection, and pulling off a volunteer event from start to finish. Come prepared with project ideas and questions and leave with practical guidance on expanding your organization's ability to use volunteers to support your organization and perform high-quality stewardship work in Colorado. In this four part, virtual training series, you will join a small class of less than 20 people to receivehands-on training in effective project selection, management, and program integration. About Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) Originally created in collaboration with other organizations, OSI offers affordable, in-depth training courses for volunteers and employees from any organization to learn or improve their stewardship skills and prepare for a variety of leadership roles. Approximately 300 people each year receive OSI training in topics such as volunteer crew leadership; trail design, construction, and maintenance; ecological, habitat, and fire restoration; crosscut saw skills and more.
