About the Stewardship Site: The Tenderfoot Trail located on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder is a 1.6 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail suitable for all kinds of users. Hikers and trail runners are the main user types. Wildlife such as black bears, mountain lions, song birds, birds of prey, mule deer, red foxes, and coyotes call the area near the trail home and can be spotted when visiting.
About the Volunteer Experience: Volunteers will be assisting the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks with rerouting the Tenderfoot Trail to improve trail sustainability, visitor experience, and to protect ecological habitat. Volunteers will be finalizing a trail that will be roughed in by a machine ahead of the project.
About the Overall Impact: In addition to improved trail sustainability, the new trail will reduce undesignated trails in a Habitat Conservation Area.
