Summary: Spend some time in VOC's Washington Park office to help update VOC's demographic records.
Description: Where You'll Be:
Spend the day in VOC's Washington Park office, located in the Dos Chappell Bathhouse on the North side of Smith Lake. You'll have the chance to work with VOC staff and have access to park amenities. Parking is available for all volunteers.
Anyone that attends a VOC volunteer opportunity in August, September, and October will be entered in a drawing for the chance to win a $300 SCHEELS Gift Card. The more opportunities you attend, the more entries you will earn. Good luck!
What You'll Do:
During your time at the VOC office, you will be asked to update the year of birth for individuals in our database. VOC will provide a section of individuals and you will be asked to confirm that the year of birth is properly recorded for everyone that has chosen to provide this information. This includes updating a year of birth based on a previously provided birth date, or making sure no one was born in the 1800s!
Why It Matters:
VOC is supported by its volunteer community. We cannot do what we do without our growing pool of VOC volunteers. To better build our programming and cater to our volunteers, we need to understand who makes up our community. Having a clear understanding of our demographics will allow us to build a better VOC for the future!
About Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC)
Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is the state's oldest, largest, and leading outdoor stewardship nonprofit organization. Founded in 1984 to motivate and enable people to become active stewards of Colorado's natural resources, VOC has engaged nearly 128,000 people in more than 1,000 volunteer projects for a donated labor value of $26 million. Through award-winning youth and volunteer programs, leadership training, capacity-building programs, and collaborative efforts with nonprofits and land management agencies, VOC is an invaluable resource in Colorado, especially as our outdoor stewardship needs are approaching near-crisis levels.
