Description

Start Date-End Date: 11/15/2022-11/17/2022 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: Spend the day at VOC's Washington Park office to organize and digitize historic VOC documents. Description: Where You'll Be: Spend the day in VOC's Washington Park office, located in the Dos Chappell Bathhouse on the North side of Smith Lake. You'll have the chance to work with VOC staff and have access to park amenities. Parking is available for all volunteers. What You'll Do: You will spend time scanning historical documents and archives, naming digital files, and organizing them in a sustainable way. Why It Matters: Most of our historical documents and archives only live in one place: VOC's basement. It is important to digitalize and organize our years of hard work because we could lose it all in the awful case of a fire or flood. About Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is the state's oldest, largest, and leading outdoor stewardship nonprofit organization. Founded in 1984 to motivate and enable people to become active stewards of Colorado's natural resources, VOC has engaged nearly 128,000 people in more than 1,000 volunteer projects for a donated labor value of $26 million. Through award-winning youth and volunteer programs, leadership training, capacity-building programs, and collaborative efforts with nonprofits and land management agencies, VOC is an invaluable resource in Colorado, especially as our outdoor stewardship needs are approaching near-crisis levels.
