Description: Interested in expanding your outdoor stewardship capabilities? This online module provided in partnership with Colorado Mountain College is a great place to start! You will work through five online sections covering an overview of the basic principles of ecological restoration and various tasks including seeding, planting, willow transplanting, and erosion control. The course takes 3-4 hours to complete and includes text and diagrams, recorded lecture content, video examples of topics, and quizzes. The course can be taken on its own for general knowledge or can be paired with OSI Online Guide to Crew Leadership and further field training Crew Leadership for Ecological Restoration certification. About Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) Originally created in collaboration with other organizations, OSI offers affordable, in-depth training courses for volunteers and employees from any organization to learn or improve their stewardship skills and prepare for a variety of leadership roles. Approximately 300 people each year receive OSI training in topics such as volunteer crew leadership; trail design, construction, and maintenance; ecological, habitat, and fire restoration; crosscut saw skills and more.
