Summary: Spend a day in VOC's Wash Park office to help organize and inventory VOC's Training Materials.
Description: Where You'll Be:
Spend the day in VOC's Washington Park office, located in the Dos Chappell Bathhouse on the North side of Smith Lake. You'll have the chance to work with VOC staff and have access to park amenities. Parking is available for all volunteers.
What You'll Do:
VOC is Colorado's longest-running stewardship organization. As part of our mission, we provide trainings through the Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) for volunteers and stewardship organizations across the country. Our inventory has grown over the years and we need a way to organize and understand what we already have. Volunteers will be asked to take an inventory of what we have and record what they found.
Why It Matters:
As part of our mission, VOC is determined to expand the ability of organizations and individuals across the state to take part in meaningful volunteer stewardship work. In doing so, we aid other organizations in building their own volunteer programs and recruiting, training, and managing volunteers. By helping to organize our training materials, you will help us operate this part of our mission more effectively and ultimately expand volunteer work Colorado.
About Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC)
Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is the state's oldest, largest, and leading outdoor stewardship nonprofit organization. Founded in 1984 to motivate and enable people to become active stewards of Colorado's natural resources, VOC has engaged nearly 128,000 people in more than 1,000 volunteer projects for a donated labor value of $26 million. Through award-winning youth and volunteer programs, leadership training, capacity-building programs, and collaborative efforts with nonprofits and land management agencies, VOC is an invaluable resource in Colorado, especially as our outdoor stewardship needs are approaching near-crisis levels.
