Summary: Are you interested in being a VOC Crew Chef? Learn tips and tricks from seasoned VOC Crew Chefs about how to cook for VOC volunteers in the great outdoors.
Description: March 23* Required Webinar: Volunteer Crew Chefs play a fun, yet vital role on VOC projects: ensuring that volunteers stay well-fed and well-fueled! If you are an organized individual with a passion for food, sign up for this online webinar to learn more about supplying and/or cooking meals for volunteers in some of Colorado's most spectacular places. We will cover the basics of the Crew Chef role including proper meal planning, safe food prep, camp set-up and clean-up, zero waste methods, and many other topics related to managing an outdoor kitchen. A link to the webinar with access instructions will be sent via email prior to the March 23 training date.
*If you are unavailable on March 23, please register anyway. We will send you a link afterwards for you to review before moving forward as a VOC Crew Chef.
March 26 Optional Orientation: After the webinar, you can choose to join us for an optional orientation at VOC's Operations Center in Lakewood to get a more hands-on look at the Crew Chef process, including the various equipment available to VOC Crew Chefs.

Additional Information: To become a VOC Crew Chef, attending/reviewing the March 23 webinar is required. We recommend you attend the live webinar, but if you are unavailable, a link can be made available to you afterwards for your review.Certification is gained through additional on-project learning with an experienced Crew Chef.
By checking the 3/26/2022 box, trainees have the option of signing up for an additional in-person orientation at VOC's Operations Center in Lakewood. The optional (and recommended) session will give trainees a personal look at the kind of equipment we have available to Crew Chefs, and you'll have a chance to learn a little more about what goes into preparing for a project.
