Where you'll be:
Join us on this Saturday project close to Denver and play a crucial role in performing trail maintenance tasks on the Beaver Brook Trail in Genesee Park. The park offers sweeping views of the front range, and if you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse of elk and buffalo herds roaming the park.
The Beaver Brook Trail is one of the oldest recreational trails in Colorado, and VOC has a long history of working on it. Our project will specifically target steep trail sections, addressing drainage and outslope issues to enhance the overall trail experience.
What you'll do:
From constructing drainage structures to creating new steps, there's something for everyone. This is not just an opportunity to give back to your public lands but also a chance to explore the natural beauty right in Denver's backyard. Please be aware that this project involves a 45-minute hike to reach the project site. Please bring your own lunch (BYOL) to have on the trail.
Why it's important:
Your involvement in this project will contribute to making the Beaver Brook Trail safer for visitors and more sustainable. By addressing drainage and out slope challenges, we aim to minimize erosion impacts on the surrounding park property. This trail, frequented by around 20,000 users annually, holds historical significance and plays a vital role in connecting people to nature. Join us in this effort to leave a positive and lasting mark on a trail that has stood the test of time.
