Where you'll be:
Discover Jumbo Mountain, home to an impressive trail network perfect for biking, hiking, and horseback riding. This network is conveniently located just outside Paonia, Colorado, renowned for its farm-fresh produce and vineyards.
What you'll do:
Join us in making trail system improvements to the existing trail system. As a volunteer, you will help maintain existing trails, build more sustainable drainage structures, and construct sections of new trails on reroutes.
Enjoy breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, along with dinner on Saturday. Bring your lunch (BYOL). Free campsites are available on Friday night and Saturday night, and volunteers are encouraged to arrive at base camp before 8 pm on Friday.
Why it's important:
Jumbo Mountain has one of the most frequented trail systems in the North Fork Valley. The improvements we make during this project will not only accommodate the heavy foot traffic of visitors but also strategically move the trail away from the habitat of the sensitive Colorado Desert Parsley, a BLM-sensitive species. This is a great opportunity to contribute to making a popular trail system safer and more sustainable for years to come!
