What you'll do:
Volunteers will spend the day removing Russian Olive, a List B noxious weed, to support wetland and native plant restoration efforts. This is a multi-year project that has the overarching goal of restoring 10 acres of wetland of riparian habitat. This project for volunteers ages 18+ will consist of two types of volunteers: chainsaw-certified volunteers to cut dead and dying trees, and "swamper" volunteers to help moving logs and building slash piles.
Why it's important:
Through the removal of Russian Olive from the wetland, we will contribute to preserving this valuable ecosystem while enhancing the overall visitor experience at MVNC.
