Where you'll be:
The No Barriers Mountain Campus (NBMC) is between Livermore and Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, on about 144 acres bordering the National Forest. The trail-building project would take place within a 4–5-acre area. No Barriers is proud to provide accessible outdoor experiences for their community. Their recently remodeled campus was built with universal design in mind. They run programs for people of all abilities to provide transformative experiences that shift mindsets, create belonging, and foster self-discovery to elevate individuals and their communities.
What you'll do:
This project would help maintain and build accessible trails throughout the No Barriers campus as they continue to expand their campus usage and programming offerings in 2024. The work will include cutting trail, moving material, and filling the trails with crusher fines.
Enjoy breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, along with dinner on Saturday. Bring your own lunch (BYOL). Free campsites are available on Friday and Saturday nights, and volunteers are encouraged to arrive at base camp before 8 pm on Friday.
Why it's important:
Providing and maintaining accessible trails will allow all of No Barriers' community members to fully participate in their programs. The trails lead or will lead to their natural-face rock climbing, platform tents, and paths to various outlooks on their property. This project is part of No Barriers' ongoing effort to make their programming more accessible and to concentrate movement around their campus to preserve the land.
