Where You'll Be:
VOC's San Luis Valley tool cache is located in Monte Vista and is home to a plethora of project equipment from tools to kitchen supplies. It is located at the Rio Grande National Forest administrative site, which is right behind the Best Western Movie Manor outside of town. Map and directions will be provided upon registration.
What You'll Do:
Celebrate National Volunteer Week with VOC’s San Luis Valley staff, Katie and Jules (new seasonal!), to get tools and equipment ready for the 2024 project season! We weren’t able to organize a fall tool day at the end of last season, so we’re kicking this year off with a bit of spring cleaning, VOC style! After a couple hours of work on the tool cache we will kick back and enjoy some delicious food together. It will be a great chance to catch up with local volunteers, chat about this summer’s project line-up and get to know our new Volunteer Coordinator, Jules!
Why It Matters:
A well-cared-for tool is a safe tool! Dozens of projects each year take a toll on tools and equipment, and by the end of the season, they're in need of some TLC. By helping us care for the SLV tool cache, you'll help prepare volunteers for a safe and successful 2024 project season.
