Summary: Intimate volunteer experience for 15-30 people per day. Each project will have several workdays scheduled throughout the summer and will be supervised by VOC crew leaders. Volunteers are responsible for providing their own meals.
Description: West of Denver lies the Mount Evans Wilderness Area, the only designated
wilderness within 50 miles of a major urban city. Surprisingly wild
and unspoiled, the trails receive exceptionally high numbers of visitors each
year and are constantly in need of repair. Volunteers will complete basic
trail maintenance on a 2-mile section of the popular Beartrack Lakes Trail
which provides impressive views of Mount Evans as it leads to Beartrack
Lake below Mount Epaulet.
