Summary: Construct two miles of the Front Range Trail
Description: Imagine 8 miles of uninterrupted trail along the Front Range,
supplying opportunities to hike, bike, run and ride horses. The
Foothills Regional Trail, located west of Fort Collins and Loveland,
runs from the Devil's Backbone Open Space north to Horsetooth
Reservoir connecting to the Colorado Front Range Trail and 8,000
acres of open space and public lands. In partnership with Larimer
County, VOC volunteers will spend the weekend building up to 2
miles of this regional trail and will connect to the Rim Rock Trail
built by VOC in 2002. Once complete, this trail will pass through
scenic vistas, fertile agricultural land and important wildlife habitat.
It is likely to become one of the superior recreational trails on the
Front Range, with an expected 80,000 users each year.
