Start Date-End Date: 10/28/2005-01/00/1900 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: Assist in removal of Tamarisk in the Devils Canyon Area Description: Come and participate with the Tamarisk Coalition and the BLM in removing Tamarisk in the Devils Canyon area. Areas of concentration will be around ponds and the drainage. Work will consist of dragging and piling cut Tamarisk for burning this winter. The Tamarisk Coalition is providing lunch and water the first day and snacks and water the second day. At the end of the second day there will be a barbeque provided by the Tamarisk Coalition at Reed Park in Fruita for all participants. Participants will need to bring leather gloves, hats, sunscreen, protective eyewear and anything else one might need for working outdoors. Long pants, long sleeve shirts and sturdy shoes are required for this project along with volunteer agreement.
