Summary: Participants will complete a trail reroute through a rejuvenated burn area.
Description: Vallecito Reservoir is one of southern Colorado's most popular recreation destinations. Located just 25 miles northeast of Durango and surrounded by the San Juan National Forest, it is also a key access point to the San Juan Mountains. Partnering with the San Juan Mountains Association and the USDA Forest Service, VOC will reroute a popular trail off private land through the recovering Missionary Fire burn area. Spend two spectacular days constructing new trail and assisting with re-vegetation efforts to close the old trail. Enjoy great camping (close to creature comforts) while helping create sustainable public access to great hiking and sublime views.
