Summary: Volunteers will make improvements to a badly eroded trail that provides access to Gross Reservoir.
Description: Gross Reservoir, just west of Boulder, provides a convenient escape for those seeking a quiet afternoon hike, or an early morning fishing excursion. However, access to the Boulder Creek inlet, a favorite of anglers, is difficult and dangerous due to the lack of a defined trail. Years of social use through wooded and steep terrain has created a network of eroded trails. Lacking a clearly defined path in this often challenging landscape has prevented many hikers and anglers from enjoying this pristine, Front Range recreation area. Come work with Denver Water and the USDA Forest Service, to establish a single, sustainable trail route. Hone your skills and learn new ones as volunteers build switchbacks, rock steps and waterbars. Help create safe access that allows visitors to enjoy the numerous recreational opportunities that Gross Reservoir has to offer.
