Summary: Google employees and their families from Boulder will be planting cottonwood trees around the ponds.
Description: Volunteers will be planting cottonwood plug trees along the pond banks. To plant these small trees, volunteers will dig 6-8 inches into the ground approximately 3 inches in diameter to plant each tree. This process goes fairly quickly and the land manager thinks that your group could probably plant around 500 of these small plugs. Also volunteers may be helping towards the end of the project to harvest more cottonwood plugs. This involves cutting branches from mature cottonwood trees and placing them in water so they will root and can be planted at a later time.
