Sign up for the trail that most interests you! Appropriate for anyone 16 and over who can work at altitude. Experience on a trail project is helpful but not necessary. Six crews, on six different trails, in one great wilderness, on one day...what a great way to make a difference. The Mt Evans Wilderness is just 30 minutes from over 2 million people and its trails need your help. Description: Within a mile of the trailhead, a scenic meadow takes form with beaver ponds dotting the area. Climbing slowly, you dart into the trees before coming upon another meadow. This is where the Resthouse Meadows Fire burned 1,076 acres in 1964. The Resthouse Meadows Fire is believed to have been caused by humans. Trail length 3 miles Elevation: - Trailhead: 9,100' - Destination: 10,500' This innovative project combines the responsiveness of an adopt work day with the impact of a large scale project. VOC will partner with Friends of Mt Evans and Lost Creek Wilderness to field six crews, at least one all women, to do trail maintenance and restoration. Improve your skills and learn how to lead an adopt-a-trail day.
