Description

Start Date-End Date: 06/28/2008-06/28/2008 Land Manager Office: Land Manager Contact: Funding Partner: Programmatic Partner: Summary: This one of six different trails for this project. Sign up for the trail that most interests you! Appropriate for anyone 16 and over who can work at altitude. Experience on a trail project is helpful but not necessary. Six crews, on six different trails, in one great wilderness, on one day...what a great way to make a difference. The Mt Evans Wilderness is just 30 minutes from over 2 million people and its trails need your help. Description: (9,060 ft. elevation) - This trailhead provides access to the Captain Mountain Trail and Lost Creek Trail. The small parking area is located on the north side of the road. From the parking area, the Captain Mountain Trail goes northwest and the Lost Creek Trail goes south from the opposite side of the road. This innovative project combines the responsiveness of an adopt work day with the impact of a large scale project. VOC will partner with Friends of Mt Evans and Lost Creek Wilderness to field six crews, at least one all women, to do trail maintenance and restoration. Improve your skills and learn how to lead an adopt-a-trail day.
