A great project for families, groups and anyone who wants do something about climate change. Description: Trees. They green our neighborhoods. They clean our atmosphere. They shade our houses. Help kick off the project season by being a good steward of your city and your planet, and planting trees in northwest Denver's Sunnyside neighborhood. VOC is partnering with The Park People to plant over 500 trees in this culturally diverse community near Interstate 70 and Pecos Street. Planting efforts will focus in the Quigg-Newton public housing community and expand to other public spaces throughout the neighborhood. This is a great chance for youth groups, families and anyone that cares about Denver's communities and Colorado's climate to make a difference. Make Earth Day and Arbor Day meaningful in 2008. Be a green neighbor and help plant a tree in Sunnyside.
