Description: In partnership with the Yankee Boy Conservation Association Attention jeeping enthusiasts! Bring your 4 wheel drive, your camping gear and a friend to help VOC restore USFS campsites in the picturesque Yankee Boy Basin. Located just south of Ouray, Yankee Boy Basin offers visitors stunning waterfalls, world renowned wildflowers, views of amazing peaks and incredible jeeping opportunities. Volunteers will "commute" between VOC's base camp and outlying campgrounds to build picnic benches, campfire rings and lower impact camping areas. Commuters will need four-wheel drive vehicles and high clearance for some assignments. The basin itself is nestled bellow the summit of Mt. Sneffels and is surrounded by breathtaking peaks including Potosi Peak, Teakettle Mountain, Cirque Mountain, Stony Mountain, and Gilpin Mountain. During the project volunteers will be treated to guided hikes on Mt. Sneffels and jeeping excursions with area guides.
