Summary:
Description: Named for Denver's sister city in Ethiopia, City of Axum Park in northeast Park Hill is a small respite in one of Denver's most historic and interesting neighborhoods. Like many other small community parks within Denver, City of Axum has lagged behind in obtaining basic park amenities such as a playground, sitting areas and walking paths.
Recently, local residents in the area have actively worked with Denver Parks and Recreation, Park Hill Thriving Communities and Live Well Colorado to provide the much needed momentum to get the park upgraded. VOC's participation will enable the residents to realize their vision with the construction of a safe accessible walking and biking path around the perimeter of the park. Be part of an incredible community based effort revitalizing this neighborhood green space for children and adults to enjoy year round. This is a great one-day project for first time volunteers, families, youth and community groups. A fun-filled celebration will end our successful day.
